La Casona de Hermosa
Located south of the bay of Santander, it is a perfect choice whether you are looking for a break or to visit the most outstanding places of Cantabrian geography.
Built in the 18th century, it was the residence of an Indian and his family upon his return from Cuba. The building is a beautiful example of a carefully restored mountain house, which accurately combines elements of Cantabrian folk architecture with the comforts that are expected to enjoy the stay. There are many antiques and works of art that decorate the different rooms of the hotel, being very remarkable the pieces, sculptures and paintings, signed by the prolific Calderón family as well as other well-known Cantabrian artists, making La Casona a small "hotel museum" .
Just beyond the iron gate of the garden, you can appreciate the majestic façade, typical of a Cantabrian house, and what is inside is a decoration that denotes a great taste for detail, turning this small hotel into a cozy place And intimate.
On the ground floor you will find a cozy dining room overlooking the garden where you can enjoy the complete breakfasts, which stand out for offering typical products of the area. In the warmer months, it is delightful to enjoy the garden surrounded by centenary trees with the freshness of the night and the smell of the lemon tree or relax watching the star on the terrace.
The 9 rooms, spacious and comfortable, offer an assured rest.
Our hotel is one of the 18 establishments cataloged as "Palaces and Casonas de Cantabria", accommodations whose traditional architectural, historical or cultural value so certifies. It is also a member of the Club Cantabria Infinita quality, as a certification of its constant innovation and adaptation to the new tourist demands.

"Fabulous - friendly, stylish and wonderful location"
We were welcomed like old friends when we arrived, and our dog was fussed over. The room was fabulous and large with a beautiful bathroom. The gardens are lovely and you are welcome to sit in them. Breakfast was sublime, homemade cakes, locally made bread, cheese, eggs, ham, fresh fruit, and lots more besides. It was really delicious and we would heartily recommend it.13 Apr, 2019 Jennie Woolston
We were given lots of information about the region, and a map and booklet to help us. Alas, we only had one day to discover this beautiful area, but will stay here longer next time as the scenery and culture deserve more than a whistle stop tour. Can't top this hotel.
"Adorable country Inn"
We liked The orange cake for breakfast. Sitting on the back porch reading. The view of the countryside out the bedroom window. The cute town and surroundings.13 Jun, 2018 Sussanah en USA
